    This Security and Privacy Statement applies to this website which is operated by CIGWELD Pty Ltd (ABN 56 007 226 815) (“CIGWELD”) under the domain name “www.cigweld.com.au” (“CIGWELD website”). This Security and Privacy Statement may also apply to services offered by CIGWELD on websites hosted by third parties. If so, express reference to this Security and Privacy Statement will be made on those websites.

    CIGWELD understands and appreciates that you, as a CIGWELD website visitor, are concerned about your privacy and about the confidentiality and security of information we may gain about you online. CIGWELD is committed to protecting your privacy. This Security and Privacy Statement explains how your personal information will be treated as you access and interact with the CIGWELD website.

    As the CIGWELD website develops and as technology evolves, CIGWELD will continue to strive to provide you with better and more customised services and with a more effective website.     Information collected

    The information that CIGWELD collects about you is dependent on how you use the facilities offered by the CIGWELD website.

    If you visit an unsecure area of the CIGWELD website (that is, an area where you are not required to log on) to read, browse or download information, our system will record the date and time of your visit to our site, the pages viewed and any information downloaded. However, our systems will not record any personally identifiable information.

    The CIGWELD website offers a number of interactive facilities including tools such as “welding calculators” and “what should I buy” applications, as well as online surveys, application forms and competition forms. These forms have data capture facilities inbuilt into them – some content we will use for analytics only, but form submissions we will keep and add to our contact database.

    If you decide to complete an online application form or online survey, the information that you enter into the online form or survey will only be collected by CIGWELD if you submit your online application or survey. If at any stage you cancel your application or log out prior to submitting your application or survey, the information you have entered up to that point will be automatically deleted.

    When a form is submitted, CIGWELD collects personal information  for the initial purpose, and may disclose such information to relevant third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry / submission is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. By registering your details with CIGWELD i.e. entering a CIGWELD competition or submitting your enquiry or registration form  you are agreeing to join our email database.

    Advertising and tracking

    CIGWELD uses Google Adwords, Admob, Adword, Adsense Services (Double Click) to deliver its online advertising where CIGWELD banner advertisements are placed on Third Party websites (herein called an ‘Advertising Company’).

    When you view a CIGWELD advertisement on a Third Party website, the advertising company uses ‘cookies’ and other methods to collect information such as:

    •   The server your computer is logged onto.

    •   Your browser type.

    •   The date and time of your visit.

    •   The performance of their marketing efforts.

    When you access the CIGWELD website after viewing a CIGWELD advertisement on a Third Party website, the advertising company collects information on how you utilise the CIGWELD website (for example which pages you view) and whether you complete an online application.

    In addition, CIGWELD also uses Google Analytics tracking software to collect information on how you utilise the CIGWELD website.
    This tracking software also uses cookies to collect information similar to that collected by the advertising company.

    The advertising company and tracking software companies use that information to perform statistical analyses of aggregate user behaviour, but those analyses are not based on personal information. CIGWELD uses those analyses to measure advertising effectiveness and relative consumer interest in the various areas of the CIGWELD website. As a general rule, no personal information is collected by the Companies in this process. If, however, any information is automatically collected, these companies are required under their arrangements with CIGWELD to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of that personal information.

    You can opt-out of DoubleClick cookies. This opt-out is applicable to DoubleClick tracking your current browser throughout DoubleClick’s network of websites, including the CIGWELD website.
