CIGWELD Pty Ltd seeks immediate return of Satincrome Part No’s & Lot Numbers listed in this letter.

The provided electrodes meet the AWS classification A5.4:E309L-17, which is very similar to A5.4:E309LMo-17 which is met by Satincrome 309Mo-17. The main difference lies in the chemical composition. The supplied electrodes do not contain any molybdenum, and therefore produce weld metal with a lower corrosion resistance than Satincrome 309Mo-17. The microstructure and hot cracking resistance is very similar, and the supplied electrodes can be used in same way as Satincrome 309Mo-17 for dissimilar welds. The yield strength and tensile strength are slightly higher for Satincrome 309Mo-17, while the ductility is equal.

1. Please use the identification information in this notice to determine if you have any of the affected products.

c. Determine if you have any of the affected lot numbers

2. If you have any of the affected Part Numbers & Lot Numbers:
a. Do not use the product
b. Contact CIGWELD as noted at the bottom of this letter for return and credit or replacement

3. If the material has been used, please contact CIGWELD with amount and application for further review.
